Let’s get things straight.

Getting adjusted is a key part to balancing your nervous system.  Did you know that when your spine or any joint of your body is out of alignment can cause your nervous system to not functionally communicate with your brain??!!  The goal of chiropractic care is to correct the spinal misalignment and improve your body’s physical function.

The spinal manipulation or adjustment, coupled with massage therapy is an excellent way to improve everyday function and decrease the strain and stress life can put on each of our bodies.

A unique approach of massage therapy with chiropractic care

Muscle work is extremely useful in loosening the muscles in order to provide relief to the body and achieve an efficient adjustment.

Types of massage used include deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, positional release, TMJ/intraoral therapy, and theragun vibration.  Massage is typically focused on increasing circulation, helping achieve a greater sense of relaxation and decreasing pain levels.

We use medical massage to help our patients.  This is a type of massage that is focused on improving range of motion, decreasing muscle pain and improving an overall state of health and wellbeing.  The goal for this is to work on specific areas of dysfunction in order to achieve longer lasting results.  If you are looking to experience a light or relaxing massage, medical massage may not be what you are looking for.

Activator

The activator is another chiropractic technique that is low force when adjusting the spine.  For those that are hesitant about the high velocity low amplitude type of adjusting, activator is the place to start.  When the activator is used it is based on speed of the device and the applied force is localized, so it does not add any additional torque or bending.

The activator is also great for muscle work and can be used a lot in combination with the adjustments delivered to the body.

From the ground up

Your feet are a vital part of your overall spinal stability.  Spending time on your feet can be hard, even worse with little to no support.

Orthotics provide a better way to adapt to gravitational stressors.  They also help keep your alignment in check and provide a way to help keep your adjustments.

A scanner will scan both feet separately.  It will then provide where your feet are standing and whether pronation or supination is a factor for your feet or gait.  The scanner will analyze how your feet and stance are affecting your spine and its stabilization. The process takes about 15 minutes and you will be provided with an option to purchase orthotics after the scan.

Rock Tape

A helpful add on service that is offered to assist the body and muscles specifically, in order to recover from the work that was done long after the appointment is over.  Rock tape is excellent for athletic performance, as well as everyday use for soothing aches and pains.

Rock tape can be kept on for up to 4-5 days and promotes blood flow to muscles, lymphatic drainage, reduces muscle vibration, and assists in the removal of lactic acid build up.

Nutrition counts, too.

Just as our spines can be misaligned due to external forces, internal forces can also cause similar disturbances.

These disturbances can range from bowel, bladder, respiratory, etc.  Balancing the internal and external body is extremely important is your spinal care and overall health.

Standard Process, Medi Herb and DC laboratories are the nutritional support companies utilized in this office.  A nutritional imbalance can cause havoc in the body.  Finding the key vitamin or mineral is focused on assisting the body and organs in order to help bring balance to the nervous system.

Dr. Nicole will be on maternity leave September 20- October 28.
